Point O Woods Old Lyme Ct.

This coastal construction project took place in the Point O’ Woods beach community in Old Lyme, Connecticut, where our team completed a complex combination of selective demolition, structural shoring, excavation, and custom outdoor living construction.

The first phase of the project involved carefully demolishing portions of the existing structure while stabilizing the remaining foundation through engineered shoring techniques. Working in shoreline communities like Point O’ Woods requires precise planning due to tight access, nearby homes, and coastal environmental conditions.

One of the most challenging aspects of the project was preparing the site for a new outdoor living space. The property sits on ledge typical of the Connecticut shoreline, so our crew performed ledge drilling and pinning to create a stable base for the new deck and structural elements. This process ensures the foundation remains secure even during coastal storms and shifting ground conditions.

Because the home is located approximately 300 feet from the nearest roadway, all concrete work required long-distance concrete pumping to reach the construction area efficiently. Our team pumped and placed concrete to form reinforced retaining and structural walls, which were then finished with natural veneer stone to match the surrounding coastal architecture.

The final result is a fully integrated custom outdoor living space designed for both durability and luxury. Features of the project include:

  • Structural concrete walls with veneer stone finishes

  • A cascade infinity hot tub overlooking the property

  • A custom outdoor grilling and entertaining area

  • Structural support systems designed to withstand New England coastal weather and storms

This project demonstrates our ability to manage complex shoreline construction projects in Old Lyme and throughout the Connecticut shoreline, combining excavation, demolition, concrete work, and outdoor living construction to create spaces that are both functional and built to last.

The finished result is the ultimate outdoor experience in Point O’ Woods — engineered for strength, built for entertaining, and designed to withstand the harsh conditions of coastal Connecticut.
